Key Traits and Behaviors of Ragdoll Cats

Ragdolls have a very docile, gentle temperament and tend to go limp when handled earning them the nickname "puppy cat."


They are extremely affectionate cats that bond strongly with their families and thrive on human interaction. 


Ragdolls are very laid back and relaxed. They adjust well to new people, pets and environments.


Most Ragdolls enjoy water. Many will play with or drink from faucets and join their owners in the shower.

Fascination with Water  

Ragdolls love to perch up high. Providing cat trees and high ledges appeals to their adventurous spirits.

Love of Heights

Ragdoll kittens are born white. At around 8 weeks their pointed pattern starts to appear in darker face, ears, paws and tail.

Pointed Coat Pattern

Ragdolls are slow growing, reaching full size after 4 years. Males weigh 15-20 lbs and females 10-15 lbs when full grown.
